With More Applicants Than Available Slots At Some Canadian Institutions, More Students Choosing Degrees Down Under

Canadian students are setting their sights on earning qualifications down under as a creative way around the limited student placements in Canada, writes Kimberly Randall, an Ontario-based regional director for AustraLearn / AsiaLearn / EuroLearn in the Fall 2009 issue of Canadian Student magazine.

“Among the many study options available in Australia, rehabilitation science programs – namely Physiotherapy (PT) and Occupational Therapy (OT), are of high interest,” Randall writes. “Australia has established a tradition of excellence in the PT and OT fields that starts in the classrooms where future therapists are trained. Australian PT and OT progrmas also provide both local and Canadian students an excellent stepping-stone into fulfilling careers.”

The article includes comments from several students who are studying or planning to study for OT or PT degrees in Australia.
